AGANKAST Part Ways With Drummer And Guitarist, Announce Replacements

July 9, 2005

Guitarist Rob Matthew (formerly of ATOMKRAFT, currently in AGANKAST) has sent the following update to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:

"AGANKAST has suffered a slight set back as we have decided to replace drummer Ava Robertson and guitarist Jimmy Manningham. It was becoming clear that the two were not up to the sort of drive and commitment required of a profesional metal band like AGANKAST. With some decent industry interest in the band recently, this has been unfortunate timing. However, it has to be stated that Robertson and Manningham have not appeared on any AGANKAST recorded work — not even the oncoming debut CD. The guitar work on all AGANKAST [recordings] is me and the vocals are Allan Scott. The songwriting and sound of AGANKAST will not change at all... and we now have back in the band the original drummer who appears on all AGANKAST recordings.... He is Drew Gill, who was tempororally replaced due to a mountain-bike accident which damaged his right knee. It was left unclear whether the 17-year-old would be able to return to the drums at all. Thankfully, he made a full recovery and rejoined AGANKAST in May. Auditions have been taking place for a second guitarist, which we have now found — Cairan Wright, a young guitarist with great attitude and ability. We also have a new video of the band online at the website and we are all looking forward very much to performing live and getting out into Europe."
